Spit-Up(date): What is Going on Here at Baby Buy Products

Happy Monday everyone! Did everyone have a good weekend? The weather was very nice here in Seattle yesterday; finally some sunshine after days and days of gray! We were able to take the kids to the park and have some family time.
Saturday was a banner day for me. I overcame my chicken tendencies, went down to Dutch Bike Company Seattle and drove a Bakfiets! I have blogged at length of my love of the Dutch cargo bikes, but I was unaware that there was a store right in my backyard that sold them! Stephan and David of the Dutch Bike Co. could not have been friendlier or more wonderful. I WILL have a Bakfiets someday....oh yes, she will be mine...

Our new friends at the Dutch Bike Co. even have a shot of Little Miss and I on their blog. The Husband and Little Miss got to try out the conference bike as well. Turns out we were there at the same time as Anne from Car Free Days (Who I didn't even say hi to until I saw her post and Stephan's post. Why oh why am I so shy sometimes? I should have introduced myself and started chatting! Must be the Midwestern upbringing. Oh well, hello Anne if you are reading!)

As far as blog news of the week,We ended a couple giveaways and started a couple more! We picked a winner for our Elodie Details giveaway.
It was Kailani! Congrats! Also, Mary of Austin, TX won the Pocket Snails Giveaway and hopes to use the "potty snails" to potty train her daughter. You still have a few more days to enter the Diaper Bag Goodies Giveaway- so send in your emails now! Also, Saturday, we started the amazing Bay Area Giveaway worth $450!
I cannot say it enough readers, look around at what baby and kid things are being produced in your own area! Buy Local when you can and you will be supporting your community. Nichole and I have tried to bring you some of the great companies we have found in the Seattle area as well as the Bay Area. Now it's your turn! See what you can find and share your experiences with us. Email us at review.babybuyproducts@gmail.com and tell us about the best local baby product that you have found. We will put together a list of all the great things that you, our readers share with us! Hopefully this will inspire others to look around at small businesses that produce great baby and kid products and support buying locally made goods. We hope to do a Chicago Area Giveaway soon (please Chicago people, email us with your local products!) and after that, we are open to suggestions about where to focus our attention for our Buy Local Giveaways. Send in your requests and we'll see what we can do.
We have a bunch of fantastic products to share with you this week and a couple of more cool giveaways so stay tuned!

Keep Smiling and Have a Great Week,
The Baby Buy Products Team
And here is the rest of it.

Laura, Hello! Looking forward to seeing more Seattle parents using bikes as transportation. Go for it - it will change your life. I wish I had done it sooner. A Bakfiets is perfect for younger kids. My kids (4 and 7) are a bit old and heavy for one. Check out the Xtracycle too (http://www.xtracycle.com/)Great for kid, grocery and library book hauling - to name a few.
Cheers, Anne
