Nursing my children was always an adventure. The how, when, where of it all would always be up in the air until the last minute. Sometimes we would be on the couch with a pillow from the bed and a blanket behind my back...It was always some kind of crazy combination. Sure, I used nursing pillows, but honestly, after giving birth (I gained 60 lbs with Little Miss and 50 with Mr. Man- so I was no skinny-minny!) they didn't fit me very well and were uncomfortable. Also with all I am now reading on some of these nursing pillows and recalls, as well as them being filled with who-knows-what and made in China, I am not sure that using a "must-have" nursing pillow is the best idea after all.
So who will come through with a green nursing pillow? Blessed Nest of course! Blessed Nest is a purveyor of beautiful and safe nursing pillows. These are not your sister's nursing pillows! Filled with organic buckwheat hulls, the Nesting Pillow, conforms to your baby, helping them stay put while nursing and not lose that precious latch (the latch that can be SO HARD for you to get back- any new breastfeeding mother can attest to that!) The buckwheat hulls are shaped like tiny pyramids, so they are able to move around, shape to you and your baby, and then lock in place. Plus, they are organic, and also circulate air better than something synthetic, and will not attract mildew, dust or dust mites.
The organic buckwheat hulls are then covered with canvas that is made from %100 organic cotton that is milled here in the United States. The canvas then has a removable organic cotton slipcover that has been tested to be removed while holding a baby and making a phone call! (No kidding! Heather from Blessed Nest told me that they actually tested the ease of the slipcover by having a mom hold a baby and talk on the phone while removing the cover!) The slipcover is made from light-weight 100% cotton print on the edge, with soft 100% organic cotton French Terry on the top and bottom. The prints are really cute, and who doesn't love terry? The slipcover can be easily removed and machine washed and dried. You can also buy extra slipcovers so that you can have one ready when the other one is in the wash.

I just love reading the "Other Uses" on the Nesting Pillow's FAQ! Here, read them for yourself!
* Kate started sleeping through the night for the first time since she was a few weeks pregnant, once she had it to support her growing belly
* Amy used hers during childbirth, to be a little more comfortable while bring her little one into the world
* Matt and Angela used theirs to hold little Elizabeth on the long plane ride home to Kansas after adopting their little girl in Taiwan
* Gracie is 3, and loves to use hers as a bean-bag chair
* When her mom isn’t using it to feed Sophie, Tabitha likes to lounge around on hers, and read books to her little sister
* Danielle brings hers to the grocery store so her little one won’t face-plant into the shopping cart when she wants to sleep through the produce section
* Tim won’t admit this to his friends, but he rarely watches football without being propped up on the one that is supposed to belong to his wife
* Ryan is a 30-something kid that ordered one to rest his arms and controls on while playing Play Station
* Sierra has a bad back from waiting tables in her early 20’s and lifting her toddler in her later 20’s, so she can’t sleep without hers
* Allison says that it makes the perfect place for her Laptop, since it stays put and keeps her lap cool
