Breastfeeding is great for so many reasons. I was over-the-moon happy that I could provide for my children, but also happy when they were done using me as their own personal dairy. Talking about breastfeeding has become a hairy subject; I undoubtedly support anyone who breastfeeds, but on the other hand, it is a very personal decision and I also support anyone who decides it just isn't for them.
In eco-friendly terms, I would have to say that breastfeeding is the way to go. It's free, natural, and great for babies. When Mr. Man was six weeks old I went back to my teaching job. Like many mothers, I needed to get back to my job- new baby or not. And of course, going back to work for most mothers means pumping. Oh how I loath pumping. I can't even tell you how horrible it was to sit in a locked classroom, praying that some 7th grader wouldn't bust in with another teacher's keys (which, of course, happened a couple of times- I am sure those kids are scared for life because of my screaming "get out! GET OUT!" at the top of my lungs.) Anyway, I digress, if breastfeeding is the best for baby, then it would make sense that you would also want to keep that breastmilk pure, and free of any leeching chemicals.
That's where Mother's Milkmate comes in handy. Not only are these bottles compatible with most breast pumps, nipples and collar rings. These breastmilk storage bottles are also totally PBA free. The Mother's Milkmate First In/First Out Storage Rack is also very handy and can be used in the fridge or the freezer. This would have been so handy for us. Every morning, in a daze from not getting enough sleep, I would try and go through my not-so-neat freezer trying to find the latest dated milk for Mr. Man. Inevitably, I would find that I was confusing the dates and milk that was too new was getting used too fast. This storage system would have been much handier than my system (which wasn't much of a system at all) that's for sure!
Both our Grand Prize Winner and our Runner Up will be receiving a Mother's Milkmate storage system! These will be directly shipped to the winners from Mother's Milkmate. If you would like to purchase this wonderful, and safe product, you can see the list of online retailers here.
