Meet Tofu Bear, the first in our line up of eco-friendly baby products. Doesn't he just look all around friendly? Tofu bear is made of Soysilk fibers, which are left over after the manufacture of tofu (Tofu-you know, that yummy, good for you, stuff in your Asian food!).
Some Facts about Soysilk:
*Soy is a completely renewable resource – coming from the earth and being wholly biodegradable.
*Soysilk® brand fiber has the same moisture absorption as cotton but with better moisture transmission, making it more comfortable and sanitary
*The process for making Soysilk® is 100-percent natural and free of any petrochemicals, making it an extremely environmentally friendly product.
*Soysilk® brand fiber can be washed in home washing machines and air dried.
They take these leftover fibers and make a beautiful textile that "has the softness and smoothness of cashmere but isn’t hazardous to the environment". Soy fibers are being used to make all kinds of products these days, but I think these animals have to be the cutest! Just check out SOYphia and LanceSOYlot, the goats, who have arrived just in time for Easter! They are adorable- wouldn't they be a great addition to your Easter basket? They don't give cavities, and they are good for the environment!

The Tofu Bear is adorable! Cindi
I purchased two bears and the quality is horrible. One bear was for my baby (website said this bear was great for young children), so I washed it before giving it to him. When I pulled it out of the washer the bear was torn in four areas. I then looked at the unwashed bear and it too was falling apart in two spots.
The website also says this bear is 100% SOYSILK fiber, which is not true. The inside of the bear is synthetic fiber fill.
