Car back seat looking for my 17 months of age?

I really want to get a new car seat and rear faces. Now I have a Graco Comfort Sport and my daughter is in front has been facing in the upper level of the harness. I'd like to look back whether it is really safer? Is it? I do not know what to buy. There are so many options out there. I've been looking at the Britax Marathon or the Radian that goes up to 80 pounds. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? What would be better? Is there anything I can and better than others?

Graco MyRide I heard that 65 is very good. RF is up to 40 pounds, and FF to 65. In addition, if you go to Britaxusa.com, roll over car seats and then click "Set my child," can use their tools to find an adjustment perfect. And yes, extended back is much safer. Good for you for making this important decision and knowledgeable.

Only people who really know about car seats, please. Thanks.?

I am looking into getting a new car seat for my son who is now 17 months old in a rear-facing car seat FPSV. I had planned to make the Sunshine Kids Radian 80, but found out it is the height of the harness same (that my child outgrow the height before anyway) as 65. The Regent has a top height of the harness, but no protection against lateral impact. I my child is in a five-point harness as long as possible, but would like the side shields.

I'm not positive about the Radian 80 or 40. But I know that is far more important for him to have a 5-point harness as long as possible. While lateral protection is good, if you are sitting in the middle (which is great, but does not always work if you have more than one child) do not need it, and you are sitting at the gate, a car seat with side shields will not save you in a crash that is so bad that the door is completely folded far enough to hurt. Whichever one will get you in a 5-point harness as long as possible (usually up to 80 pounds is the highest they do now) is the best bet.

Radian Car Seat

Car Seat Safety

I found a very exciting video last month on on YouTube.com (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azgBhZfcqaQ&NR) with regarding the death of a child, because the seat belt / car seat no. Since then, I've kind of been on a mission to discuss the last car seat I recently bought for my house.

It all started because my twin nephews were coming for a visit a month throughout California and while here, one of them had a growth spurt that meant a new car seat. Luckily, I was lucky to get the Radian80 by Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products (http://skjp.com).

At first, the car seat Radian80 was going home with my sister-in-law, but the more I thought about the video I've seen, and the more I read about the naivety of others with respect to car seats, more than my sister-in-law and I realized that keeping the car seat for when I looked after the children of relatives and friends was a good idea, that way, I'd be a responsible babysitter.

Gung ho about Radian80 car seat, I decided to write a comment about that our blog (Http: / / thedabblingmum.blogspot.com/2007/06/review-radian-80-car-seat.html). Several months later, the control is still the most popular post on my blog.

Suffice it to say, the car seat Radian80 receives a strong recommendation from me. It grows with your child, the straps are adjustable, it is passed crash tests, and may even go on an airplane. And my nephew, and let me tell you once I got into the car seat was not going back to his old car seat. In fact, if it was put in the old car seat, he was frightened. After a week of using the car seat Radian80, my sister-in-law called and suggested that her husband pick two new car seats before he returned.

Now, I'm making a few publications on the safety seat on blogs and forums, while promoting my parenting magazine shameless plug I know! But in an ironic way, it is a good thing because it's got me in contact with the public-the parents!

In any case, if you are serious about protecting their children, while in the car I can make some suggestions?

1. Before you buy a new car seat, whether has been recalled due to safety concerns. You can do that by checking the following links: http://www.cpsc.gov/ and http://www.carseat.org/Recalls/recall.shtml (And do not forget to check to see if seat belts in your car can be defected. Http: / / www.seatbeltdefects.com)
2. When you do not know what car seat for the collection, visit the forums (as http://car-seat.org/) where parents are discussing these issues. Knowing what other parents think, what experiences I had, and how did the way that could help make an informed decision.
3. Understand how car seats are supposed to work and installed. If in doubt, read the instruction manual, visit sites such as keeping children safe (or http://www.lpch.org/forPatientsVisitors/ http://www.keepkidshealthy.com/WELCOME/safety/car_seats_safety CommunityResources / fittingStation.html) inspection of car seats, stations (http://www.seatcheck.org/), or visit the police station, which often have programs to help ensure that their children are properly secured.
4. Always make sure the car seat you buy fits properly in your vehicle.
5. Sure provided that the car seat you buy fits the height and weight of your child.
6. When the straps on the car seat your child is too tight, or your child has difficulty to sit comfortably in your seat, do not wait. Go out and buy a car seat that fits your child! Take a seat belt fit test (http://www.usa.safekids.org/CPSWeek2006/documents/safety-belt-test.pdf)
7. If the seat belts in your car is not working properly, take your car and not correct them, which really could mean the difference between life and death.
8. Whenever possible place of his son's car seat in the middle of the back seat away from both sides of the vehicle.
9. Make sure your child is in a forward position and at an inclination of 45 degrees if he / she is under a year old. And Always place rear-facing car seats in the back of the seat away from airbags.
10. Never buy a car seat based solely on profitability, particularly if used.
11. Throw away any car seat that has been in a motor vehicle accident!
12. Once the seat belt is placed and, wiggle it around to make sure the seat belt keeps the car seat in place. In other words, the car seat is not loose.

In the end, your child is as safe as precautions you take.

Radian Car Seats
What convertible seat should I buy?

I'm debating between the Radian (looking back to 45 pounds. Striker vs. 80 lbs.) Or MyRide Graco (looking back to 40 lbs., Face to face to 65 pounds) .. I like the weight limits greater than radians, but do not know if they are really needed (my son is only 16 pounds. Now). I also like the graco has a head rest removal I think it would be easier to fit in my car (Nissan Xterra) Graco products, but seem cheap and good quality not like me. Does anyone have experience with either or both of these seats? Both seats are recommended to me by a CPST, by him / her know that both are good choices, going through a hard time deciding between the two. It is not a price difference of $ 100.00. I guess that has a headrest xtsl radians adjustable, but is 269.99 instead of 249.99 for the SL Ann my son is 4 months old. Since you are a CPST, do you think the Radian fit my Nissan Xterra? I've heard that does not fit all the cars very well.

If you can afford it, I would get the Radian, personally. The Radian XT SL seat is my dream lol. Not sure what you mean with the rest of the Graco removable …? The MyRide is a solid piece, so it can not reduce its size by eliminating support for head. If you are reading that somewhere, may be referring to the pillow so little is velcro'da the top. A seat that is * not * have a break cover Detachable is the true First Years Fit. The several inches above can be removed for a baby less, so it does not occupy much space when you need to recline. The rest head must be put back on when the baby's head falls within an inch of the top or 22 pounds, whichever comes first. But at this point, most Children may be seated a little more vertical so you do not need the full recline angle of 45 degrees. The MyRide is a perfectly safe seat and a good choice. In fact, it is probably what we will be getting a spare / second for g-parents. But if I could afford it, I would get a Radian. Higher limits weight, higher shell, alloy and steel structure has headwings XT for side impact additional protection. You say your son is 16 pounds, but At what age? If it is medium to small, you'll be fine with the limits MyRide. If he is on top of the charts for either height or weight, it is possible make greater use of higher deposit and higher limits of Radian. If you choose the Radian, I recommend finding somewhere that will allow you to test your first car. They have some installation problems and do not work well in some cars.
